We empower the capacity of guardians and caregiver to protect children, young women and youth from violation and exploitation and safeguard their rights.

ii) Life Skills

We develop the capacity of the children, young Women and youth through an intensive 10-day life skills training aimed at equipping them with information they need to empower, build their capacity and equip them with skills to effectively address psycho-social issues. This is integrated through life skills coaching and monitoring of the beneficiaries to ensure the skills are practised and internalized. CAD recognizes that one of the greatest threats to the future of children, young women and youth in Kenya is hopelessness and despair in the face of the many Call 116 or WhatsApp 0722116116/ 0735640059 to report child abuse / OR 1195 for GBV cases challenges they face. They need skills to be able to effectively deal with these challenges and take responsibility for their future.

iv) Skilful Parenting

We build capacity of young mothers and caregivers on good parenting skills that is responsive and advocates to better upbringing of children.

v) Gender Based Violence

Violence against women remains embedded in our societies, both a daily reality and as a hall mark of crisis situation, perpetration by state and non-state actors. Gender justice is impossible in a world where at least one in three women faces violence in her lifetimes regardless of her culture, religion, socioeconomic class, or education level. CAD believes that all women are entitled to security and freedom from violence. In order to make lasting strides and in the spirit of ‘nothing for us without us’, CAD ensures that women are involved in creating an ideal society for themselves.

vi) Psycho-Social Support (PSS)

Psycho- This includes feelings, emotions and inner thoughts of a child

Social-
This includes the external environment of the child and how they relate with
it I.e. family, friends, school and community at large.

Support-
The various ways children are helped to meet their emotional and material
needs.
Psychosocial support- This is a set of skills and competencies geared towards
enhancing the mental, emotional, social and spiritual wellbeing of a child.
Child Ambassadors, conduct PSS to all audiences in recognition of the fact that the
emotional and social needs of everyone including children are as important as their
material needs. Psychosocial support for the children, the caregivers and the
community at large may take the various forms.

2. Advocacy

Child Ambassadors Development (CAD) exists to promote community health, gender equality, education and human rights among Children, Youth and Young Women through evidence based advocacy, community empowerment, Capacity Building, Social Protection and Collaboration. Every child should feel safe and protected, free to grow up to become all that he or she can be. CAD work is to strengthen families’ and communities’ capacity in partnership with local government, to create an environment where children, young women and youth are protected and their best interests are embedded as a regular part of community life. CAD also works with local community organizations to promote good governance and processes that are transparent and accountable across various development sectors. We carry out advocacy through sensitization, ‘Tuongee Community Conversation’ (TCC), community based psychosocial clinics (‘Community Clinic Hubs’), peer to peer counselling, individual or in person as well as group therapies, mentorship and coaching.

3. Peace and Environment

In order to promote national cohesion, nurture, equip, develop value-based leaders and skill development for improved livelihoods which are impetus to national development, CADs immediate goal is to ensure Kenya becomes more tolerant and embrace diversity. In this case CAD works in three components; (i) Program Development (ii) Resource Mobilization and (iii) Communication and Outreach.
