Who We Are

Child Ambassadors Development (CAD) is a non-profit making, non-political and non-sectarian, nondenominational entity, first registered in 2014 with the department of gender, culture and social services as a Self-Help Group with the name ‘Child Ambassadors Development’. We have since upgraded to a Community Based Organization as Child Ambassadors Development. The core mandate of the organization is to empower communities with relevant skills, knowledge, opportunities and capabilities to enable them lead dignified livelihoods. We seek to advance the rights and welfare of all Children, Youth and Young Women. 

Child Ambassadors Development (CAD) also has a youthful National network comprising of both youth in and out of learning institutions who are passionate about children, young women and youth, championing for their rights and welfare in Kenya. This membership is about 10,000 young people scattered in learning institutions. This movement is dubbed the ‘National Youth Movement for Children. Child Ambassadors Development was founded on the basis of United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC), embracing the principles of Child Rights. CAD believes in the potentiality of the local people in solving own problems. The organization undertakes community-based programs to advocate for and promote the realization of the Rights and Responsibilities and welfare of Children, young Women and Youth in Kenya through collective communal interventions. Our Primary target beneficiaries include Children, Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW), and Youth.
